Sir, This is in regard to my recent visit to your store. I want to tell you that I was beyond satisfied with one of the employees there. I visited the store last week to buy some makeup as a gift for my niece. I went into the store practically clueless. Maybe it was because I looked so out of place and completely lost that a staff member, Mrs. Loraine, straight away came up to me asking if I needed assistance. I think anyone would have been annoyed by how many questions I was asking but she continued to deal with me patiently. She asked me a few questions about my niece’s likings and suggested me a few options. Her product knowledge was excellent and her recommendations were up to my niece’s liking; she was ecstatic. Please tell Ms. Loraine how much I appreciate her help. I will now make it a point to not just buy products from your store but also recommend it to my friends and family. I also told my niece about your store and she will be bringing her friends too. Be prepared to have a lot of teenage customers lining up. Regards, Carly Reid
Response A: Our lives have been transformed over the years and sadly we pay less attention to our health. This is why I believe that having less fast food joints and more healthy eating joints would be a step in the right direction. Having the option to eat at fast food joints makes people lazy. If this option is taken away people will have to start preparing their own meals. This will promote healthy habits among them. Eating junk food regularly takes a toll on one’s health. It is the leading cause of obesity and cardiac problems. Since people have become used to eating out, they won’t be able to give it up easily. So, an intervention from the government in the form of closing down some of the establishments will surely be helpful. Moreover, for people who cannot or do not have the time to cook for themselves can eat out at the healthy eating joints. Currently, they choose fast food joints due to the easy availability, but if that is taken away they may be forced to change their poor eating habits. Overall, it would be in the best interest of the public if the fast-food joints are replaced with healthy-eating joints. Response B: I support the idea of developing a healthy eating habit but I think closing down fast food restaurants is an extreme step. Everyone has a choice to make decisions regarding their lives. Different people have different priorities in life. For some satisfying their food cravings is a priority. For them, eating is pleasing the taste buds and fast food provides an escape from the daily home-cooked food to many people. There are many that look forward to eating fast food as a cheat meal, once a while, so it would be unfair to take that joy away. Moreover, not everyone can afford to or has the time to cook for themselves. For them, fast food is a quick and cheap option to resort to. Even for the people on the go, it is a blessing which should not be taken away from them. Lastly, healthy eating joints are usually way more expensive. It would not be an all-inclusive step for all sections of the society. Instead, I believe that people should be encouraged to slowly make a transition; it shouldn’t be forced down our throats like a law. Hence, I do not support replacing fast-food joints with healthy-eating joints.
Fast Food Restaurants or Healthy Eating Joints You live in the city centre where various workers and college students lead a fast-paced life. Recently, some people have asked the local government to replace the fast-food restaurants opened at every nook and corner of the city with healthy eating spaces. This means that the people will have to switch their eating practices since most of them don’t cook their own meals. The government has asked you to respond to an opinion survey.
