I am your new neighbour; I have just moved into the house next door. I have been trying to meet you in person for a while but we seem to always miss each other. I wanted to discuss a parking issue with you.

I know that since the house was vacant for so long you may have gotten used to parking near the driveway with no problems. However, since I also park my car in the driveway, your car keeps blocking my way. The back of your car is always in front of the gate. I am unable to park my car inside. Even the placement of trash cans makes it difficult to navigate the way.

I would appreciate if you could be more considerate of the space and either park your car there in such a way that it leaves some space for mine to enter in the driveway, or park your car inside your garage. Or if there is a better solution that you can suggest, I’ll be pleased to hear that.

Please come by my house and we can work out a way that suits us.

Personally, work from home is a revolutionary and beneficial endeavor. It not only offers various advantages to the company but also to us, the employees. Firstly, I think we would all benefit from cost saving. We spend a lot everyday on traveling to and from work: gas, car maintenance, transportation, parking fees, a professional wardrobe, and lunches bought out. It can all be reduced or eliminated from our spending entirely. These savings will add up and we will have more money put back into our pockets. Additionally, I believe the company will be benefitted with lower expenses which will enhance the operating profits.

Moreover, there won’t be any geographical restrictions. We can work from anywhere. I would definitely love to work in a peaceful environment like a park or even the mountains. I think this will make us more productive as we won’t be as stressed. I strongly believe that when we are relaxed we are able to perform way better. Even, for employees like me who have to travel long hours to reach the office, it is blessing in disguise. Cutting that time out would allow me to work more energetically.

Hence, it is a welcoming step.

In my opinion working from home would be more burdensome than working from the office.

A physical office space offers more benefits. Firstly, our communication flow is much easier right; work from home will make it cumbersome to reach the other team members, as and when required. Moreover, we largely rely on nonverbal communication, the intricacies of which are disposed off when emails, phone calls, or even video calls are used to communicate. This can lead to plenty of misinterpretations and miscommunications.

Our current workspace is equipped with elegant and modern technology which wouldn’t be available at home. Our work may suffer due to poor connectivity, power outage, or slow devices. Moreover, the myriad distractions we have at home will further take a toll on our performance. While working from home our personal and professional lives will inevitably become entangled. The working hours wouldn’t be fixed which would take away the work-life balance. Hence, it would be in the best interest of the organization as well as the employees, if such decision is not made in haste and all aspects be considered.
